Not only an accomplished cook, Lidia is a master teacher and her recipes -over 200 in this collection, act as building blocks to give home cooks the confidence to try new things and experiment with our own family favorites. Update your tried and true Cauliflower Soup with Poached Garlic Puree, experiment with different shapes and flavors of pasta, try baked pastas such as Lasagna with Spinach Noodles and Bologneses Sauce, and take the humble to zucchini to new heights with Poached Whole Zucchini with Lemon and Olive Oil or Zucchini and Country Bread Lasagna.

The recipes are interspersed with Lidia’s tips and suggestions as side bars, along with serving suggestions (“Good with…”), and the photographs scattered throughout are used effectively to illustrate more complex tasks, serving suggestions, and give this book a very approachable and friendly look.

All in all, a very personal and inspired collection from a trusted name in Italian cooking.
