The Babbo Cookbook

by Mario Batali

The Babbo Cookbook is Mario’s biggest yet, filled with 150 recipes that have redefined contemporary Italian cooking. Some of the most inspired (and acclaimed) Italian food in the country, certainly New York City (which is saying a lot), is served at Babbo Ristorante, Mario Batali’s flagship restaurant in the heart of Greenwich Village. The spirit and flavor is brought home with this collection. This is Italian hospitality with a decided American twist. The recipes in the book present the dishes precisely as they are served, and the accompanying photographs by Christopher Hirsheimer (of Saveur Magazine) complete a perfect package. Mario joyfully claims that ”you can and should make every meal an event”—with his Babbo Cookbook and skillet in hand you’re halfway there.
