Everyday Pasta

by Giada De Laurentiis

In her cookbook Everyday Pasta Food, Network favourite Giada De Laurentiis brings us a collection of dishes very close to her heart and home, based on her favourite theme – Italian pasta. She stays true to her successful formula of presenting easy to prepare, simple yet slightly elegant recipes and menu ideas with thorough instruction, clean design and beautiful photography throughout. Giada has a friendly, approachable style and her recipes are all ideal for beginner cooks wanting a repertoire of satisfying, easy to manage dishes for every day meals and a few fancy enough for casual entertaining.

Pasta is a natural for Giada and cooks at home will eat up the mix of traditional and more modern selections she offers in Everyday Pasta. The presentation ideas and flavour combinations are as fresh as the ingredients themselves. Stave off hunger pangs with simple Antipasti such s Fried Zucchini, Toasted Ciabatta with Balsamic Syrup. She then moves on to some tempting Sides and Soups & Pasta Salads (Ribollita; Italian White Bean, Pancetta and Tortellini Soup) before diving into the mains; Hearty Pastas such as Baked Penne with Roasted Vegetables; Rigatoni with Sausage, Peppers & Onions; Tagliatelle With Short Rib Ragu. We also love her suggestions for No Cook Pasta Sauces for lighter, more summery fare and tucked into the section on Quick & Easy Weeknight Pastas are some recipes elegant enough for guests (Chicken in Lemon Cream with Penne) along with some sure hits for the kids at the table (Creamy Orzo; Mini Pene with Parmesan Chicken). The recipes Giada offers for special occasions are made more ‘special’ with the use of fresh pastas and creams yet are still a cinch to prepare. If you love
easy to prepare Italian pasta dishes and are after a solid collection of recipes to refer to for any occasion Everyday Pasta is a great choice.

Recipes are OK, but I can only handle so much of that G.D. megawatt smile… Cheers, Michelle.

I agree Michelle, great every day, easy recipes of delicious pasta but would prefer more food photos rather than yet another shot of those teeth. We get it your a celebrity chef…Same goes with Nigella’s recent books.
